 Must be hard to imagine a better year than he did in 2012 Rory McIlroy.

I imagine him earlier this year, chatting with his girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki and writing the goals of the season. It occurs to me that it must have been something like this: be nice to win my second Major, to finish the year as No. 1 in the world, winning the U.S. Ryder, win the money list on the PGA Tour, the Race To Dubai and the FedExCup.

In short, you must have thought McIlroy, Luke Donald did this last year and just missed winning the FedEx. The Danish blonde I must have looked surprised, but have thought that maybe it was possible.

The Boy Wonder did some of those things with remarkable ease and, what is more important to him, resisted the attack of a Tiger Woods gave midyear signs of wanting to be king again. McIlroy endured at the Honda Classic where Tiger scored 62 in the final round, but the Northern Irishman ended the tournament with great category. The first three majors were not good, but it was enough that his putter working again in Kiawah for all we witnessed a historic victory, with the same difference of strokes with which he had won the U.S. Open a year ago. Here was the best of McIlroy, who got two of the four playoff tournaments, played an important role in the Ryder and closed the season with a win in Dubai.

Now we just have to know what this guy's roof, and the coming years will be as exciting as those of the late nineteenth century, when all of the following Major waited to see what would Tiger.

I do not mean by this that the Northern Irishman is better than Woods, because to say that we should wait until both end their careers, but the 23 year old has everything to become one of the greats. Its volume is infinite game and personality is so nice for the public, that there is nobody that do not force it. On this last point reminds me of Nick Price and contrast the Zimbabwean player marked with Faldo and Norman, his two great rivals of those days. Price was all smiles, friendly with the public, respectful rivals and always willing to answer any questions. That marked contrast Price is the same brand McIlroy to Tiger.

The other big difference is that McIlroy shows appears to be a ordinary guy. His parents are a very normal family in Northern Ireland and Rory golf is important, but not the only thing you have in your life. It is able to finish a tournament and take a plane for two days to go watch tennis to his girlfriend, to retake the plane and presented in the next tournament. Do not have an entourage around him that keeps him isolated from the world and maintains freshness others their age had lost. In short, a superstar that no one believes.

End the year and surely McIlroy will take a break to assess what has been planning for the future and return to talk to Caroline, who did not have a great season.

The 2013 is waiting, and everything seems to be promising for the Boy Wonder.
