SHENZHEN - With a cumulative 21 under par, the Englishman Ian Poulter won the crown of the HSBC Champions, the final tournament of the World Series of Golf (WGC).
A final round of 65 allowed Poulter impacts withstand the onslaught of four immediate pursuers: Ernie Els and American Jason Dufner, Scott Piercy and Phil Mickelson.
They finished tied for second, two strokes away from Poulter.
Dufner had the second best round of the final day, with 64 hits, but it was not enough to catch up to Poulter.

It is the second title in a tournament Poulter World Golf Championships. The former had come in 2010, when he won the final over compatriot Paul Casey at the Accenture Match Play Championship.
The World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions, a tournament that featured no American among its participants, was held at the Mission Hills GC in Shenzhen, China, and was co-sanctioned by the PGA Tour and the European Tour. The full board, at this link .
