Gleneagles - Scotland's Paul Lawrie officially confirmed their return to the European team Ryder Cup after 13 years with a resounding victory by four strokes in the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles on Sunday.

Lawrie, 43, started the final round from the lead and ended without strain in the first place, with an aggregate score of 16 under par. It was his second win of the season on the European Tour (also won the Qatar Masters), and eighth in 509 official matches played.
The Australian Brett Rumford (68) was second, in what was the best finish in two years, 12 under par.
The Dutchman Maarten Lafeber (69), Frenchman Romain Wattel (72) and Swede Fredrik Andersson Hed (65) shared third place at 11 under par.
Another who celebrated was the German Martin Kaymer, who captured the last automatic berth to be decided on the European team for the Ryder Cup despite not playing this tournament in Scotland, won the seat still free ten lists coming from European and global, because Nicolas Colsaerts of Belgium finished in nineteenth place in Gleneagles.
Colsaerts needed a first or second positions to get into the team that will captain Jose Maria Olazabal in late September in Chicago (28 to 30).
The grancanario Rafael Cabrera-Bello, in tenth place, was the best of the Spanish in Gleneagles.
The Argentine Ricardo Gonzalez was the best in Latin America, with a finish in the 26th position. Gonzalez signed a final round of 67 shots and finished with 283 total punches, 11 champion.
Further back were the Paraguayan Fabrizio Zanotti (E-37, -3) and Argentina's Emiliano Grillo (E-43 °, -1).
