PGA - European Tour's official-McIlroy's pass to Nike

ABU DHABI - The worst kept secret has finally come to light.
The company officially unveiled Nike signed a multiyear sponsorship with Rory McIlroy, the No. 1 golfer in the  World Ranking .
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but reports indicate that it would be for $ 200 million for 10 years, with the potential to scale to 250 million dollars.
"I chose Nike for many reasons," said McIlroy. "It is a company and a brand that really resonate with me.'s Young, he's athletic, is innovative. They are committed to being the best, and I am. Signing with Nike is another step towards the realization of my dreams."
The agreement was announced at a ceremony prior to the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship, European Tour tournament which starts this week in the United Arab Emirates.
Thus, Nike represents the two biggest stars of world golf, the Northern Irishman McIlroy and Tiger Woods, who has been linked to the company since turning professional in 1996.
In October 2012, McIlroy cut ties with Acushnet Co., the company that had provided equipment Titleist and FootJoy since he had turned professional five years ago.
Reports also indicate that McIlroy had already filmed her first television ad for Nike, which would also include Woods, who apparently helped recruit Nike McIlroy.
The notice would show both players marveling at the new Red Nike driver.
Americans Nick Watney and Kyle Stanley also appear in the commercial, according to reports.
